Machine Gun Kelly and her partner Megan Fox often turn heads for their edgy looks on the red carpet. They’ve tried everything from see-through looks to MGK sporting a black tongue for fashion’s sake. For a recent outing at Milan Fashion Week, she took some heat for a look that included a spiky ponytail, metal jewelry that covered her fingers, and a shiny silver coat. She presented a heavily made-up MGK:
So what do you think? The look received both positive and negative feedback, and some who didn’t get the outfit choice weren’t particularly kind about it, writing things like:
“Just not respectfully”
“We went from Black Flag to this”
“I wish I could go back in time and show MGK this image. RIP wild boy.”
“It’s not too late to delete this.”
Each of these posts received hundreds of likes and this was just the tip of the iceberg. I did not include some of the comments that were more disrespectful and specifically disagreed with her choice to wear makeup.
However, Machine Gun Kelly didn’t just hang around. The singer, musician, movie star and director took to social media, including Instagram, shortly afterward to say he feels people should keep their “insecurities” to themselves. More specifically, he posted:
I was surprised to see that this was the fashion moment that got such a virulence from some of the Instagrammers who saw it. The goal of Fashion Week is to boldly go where style has never gone before, push the boundaries and play with your fashion personality.
I’m also surprised that this was the look that led him to return his applause. As noted above, edgy is basically the middle name of the “Bloody Valentine” singer. And while silver jewelry and a sparkly jacket might seem a bit outlandish compared to the average outfit Hollywood celebs choose to wear, the look wasn’t super wild for the average person attending a Fashion Week event. like this.

At the American Music Awards, MGK rocked another sassy coat. (It was also at the AMA Awards that MGK previously applauded his haters, for note.) This one was purple, not silver, but it was also a suit completely covered in spikes that looked a bit dangerous. I mean, look, there were basically spikes coming out of all the places on that jacket and pants that weren’t the guy’s crotch.

One of the things many of his followers noted before the applause is that Machine Gun Kelly has gotten a little more flamboyant with his fashion since hooking up (and later getting engaged) to Megan Fox. Earlier this year, the rapper-turned- The punk singer (and sometime actor) sported pink hair along with Fox’s own Barbicore locks. Then, just a few months ago, the now famous couple even disguised as Elves.
But if MGK is happy with his new look, his fans should be too. Or at least they shouldn’t be, as he pointed out, blowing up the comments section with their “insecurities.”
