Zalando, the European online fashion retailer, said it has taken the next step in its strategic partnership with Nike.
As part of the “deepening” of the relationship, customers will be able to link their Nike and Zalando accounts to access a selection of products available only to Nike members.
Customers in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Italy and Poland will be able to buy Nike footwear and clothing directly from Zalando, Zalando said in a statement.
“The long-term partnership reflects a mutual passion for innovation and delivers a pioneering customer experience,” he said.
The service will launch in all markets where Nike is present with the Zalando partner program, starting with Austria in October.
“Nike has always been an important partner in bringing customers excitement and inspiration for Zalando,” said David Schneider, co-CEO of Zalando.
“We are delighted to now take this partnership to the next level by offering our customers exclusive benefits when they buy Nike on our platform.”
Last week, JD Sports Fashion PLC announced a similar deal with Nike, becoming its first European retail partner.
