New Delhi: When it comes to being athletic, fit and sporty, actor Tiger Shroff ticks all the boxes. The youth icon is the Japanese sportswear brand, ASICS India’s top choice when it comes to connecting with its audience.
As part of the brand’s long-term vision and commitment to sustainability, they introduced their Ambience Mall store, Gurugram in a completely new avatar with Tiger Shroff at the helm. The store, opened on June 22, is a combination of multiple digital touchpoints, a sustainability zone inspired by the brand’s philosophy of ‘Healthy Mind, Healthy Body’ that focuses on a holistic spirit that inspires the athlete in each one of us.
IANSlife caught up with Tiger Shroff. Read excerpts:
Abs are made in the kitchen and not in the gym, do you agree?
Tiger: I follow a 7-day holistic training regimen, focusing each day on a particular part of the body, but controlling what I eat on a regular basis is just as important. I usually follow a healthy and balanced diet. Also, keeping your body hydrated is just as important.
Those who know how to dance can also be athletes and athletes, what activity do you enjoy the most?
Tiger: Yes, I agree with that, to excel in sports you must have a combination of good balance, speed, agility and good coordination. While I really enjoy dancing, my other favorite sports would definitely be basketball and soccer.
When it comes to working out, a good pair of shoes goes a long way in preventing knee and back injuries, which pair of shoes do you wear for the gym and which one for cardio and running?
Tiger: Yes absolutely, comfort, technology and style are things that top my list when choosing a shoe. So what I really like about ASICS is that the USP and focus has been constantly on upgrading technology and comfort along with offering options in their styles.
I love the ASICS Gel Quantum 360, it’s my personal favorite pair from ASICS. The shoe infuses sport with a futuristic look, drawing inspiration from GEL cushioning technology and design authenticity.
Tell us about your upcoming film projects.
Tiger: Currently, I am shooting for Ganapath and preparing for my other upcoming projects.
How do you feel about your association with ASICS and what do you think about the new store?
Tiger: My association with ASICS has been very fruitful. I am grateful to be part of a group of esteemed people, both globally and nationally, who believe in and help spread the importance of having a ‘Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body’. I am really a big fan of the brand even before I associated with them, especially for the high tech shoes that they offer.
The store at Ambience Mall is amazing, it has everything under one roof and the in-store collection fuses traditional and modern designs in surprising and unexpected ways. The store has all the major sports categories, so it has something for everyone who likes to be active and enjoy physical activities such as tennis, badminton, cricket, working out or running.
