Sami Zayn shut down homophobic fan in 2019 brilliantly

Sami Zayn turned off a homophobic fan at a WWE live event in 2019 in truly global fashion.

With Sami now arguably the most popular star in WWE, footage of the interaction has started making the rounds on social media again.

WWE fans will know that Zayn has a strong moral compass, and he proved it with his actions on WWE’s non-televised show in December 2019.

What happened to Sami Zayn in 2019?

In December 2019, reports from a WWE live event claimed that Sami had gotten into a verbal altercation with a fan in the front row.

Footage from the event showed Zayn taking issue with the fan who allegedly used homophobic slurs, and the couple had to be separated for security.

Reports from the event claim that the fan repeatedly called Sami “Canadian f*****,” via Bleacher Report, which understandably didn’t sit well with him.

When the fan refused to stop, Zayn got right up to his face and snapped back, which you can see in the pictures below…

Sami urged security to remove the fan from his face, as can be seen in the footage above, before calling him a “homophobic jerk.”

The incident took place at ringside while Sami Zayn was supporting his ally, Shinsuke Nakamura, in his match against Bray Wyatt at the show.

For those who are curious, the fan was removed from the arena after the altercation with Zayn and the show went on as scheduled.

The incident, and Zayn making sure the other fans in the arena weren’t subjected to the man’s homophobic chants, shows what class the former NXT Champion really is.

Latest news on Sami Zayn

Sami is scheduled to be a part of the men’s Royal Rumble this weekend, where he is expected to continue his story with The Bloodline.

However, Zayn’s involvement with the faction is not expected to last too long as he will reportedly go head to head with Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber on February 18.

The Canadian star is not expected to win the match though, with his big victory again reportedly coming when he and Kevin Owens defeated The Usos for the Tag Team titles at WrestleMania 39.
