YORKTOWN, Ind – Kiah Parrott played a phenomenal three rounds on her way to victory in the Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic tournament at The Players Club at Woodland Trails. Parrott broke BSU’s 36-hole score yesterday and went on to break the 54-hole record by seven strokes.

“Winning the tournament this week means a lot, especially since it was our home tournament and the first home tournament I’ve ever been able to play in,” Parrott said. “It’s also bittersweet to win an event named after such a special lady who had such an impact on the game of golf and at Ball State. Ever since Ball State drafted her, Brittany Kelly was someone I immediately looked up to, and winning Something with your name on it is special! I knew my time to win was coming, I was definitely behind, and I played some of the best golf I’ve played, if not the best, this week! Honestly, I had no idea about it until I My dad mentioned it to me after playing today. But breaking a record is always very special and something I strive to do and will continue to strive to do. There will be more broken records to come!

Parrott became the first golfer since Sydney Anderson in 2017 to win an individual title. He earned his first tournament win in his first home tournament appearance. She posted a 72(E) for the final round with two birdies on the day. She led the field with 14 birdies for the tournament. Her three-round mark of 207 (-9) set a new Ball State record for a 54-hole score, which she beat by seven strokes.

“I’m very proud of Kiah,” said head coach Cameron Andry. “She’s a fierce competitor with a tireless work ethic, so it’s great to see her hard work pay off. I had a blast walking the final round with her as she put the finishing touches on a dominating victory.”

Sarah Gallagher posted a career-best 71 (-1) in the final round, moving her nine places up the leaderboard to sixth for her personal best finish. She compiled 12 birdies over the two days and tied for third most birdies in the tournament. She finished with a three-round total of 219 (+3).

“I think our younger players showed some progress this week, so it’s something we can build on,” coach Andry said.

Paige Hillman, who competed as an individual, finished tied for 43rd with 232 (+16). She collected four birdies for the tournament. She had a final round score of 80 (+8).
