New York City, like London, Paris and Milan, continues to be the destination for some of the biggest fashion shows of the season. While New York City-based brands like KidSuper or Thom Browne have been featured more frequently in Europe, many of the biggest brands to emerge from the United States actually got their start at New York Fashion Week. This season, more than 100 designers have been confirmed to be featured on the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s official calendar. Local heroes like Who Decides War and Luar returned to offer live performances. International luxury brands like Marni flew to New York for shows in America’s fashion capital. There were also big shows from up-and-coming New York-based designers like Kim Nguyen of Nguyen Inc. and Edvin Thompson of Theophilio. Even Los Angeles’ own Tombogo returned this season to present one of his most captivating runway performances yet.
Overall, New York Fashion Week was packed with exciting shows. It is impossible to highlight them all.
