LOEWE Spring/Summer 2023 Paris Fashion Week

Known for its extravagant and often whimsical approach to ready-to-wear design for men and women, LOEWE has been at the forefront of European luxury and craftsmanship for more than 100 years.

Under the watchful eye of Jonathan Anderson, the brand has seen a resurgence in popularity and, as LVMH’s oldest fashion house, the stakes are high to keep the brand’s legacy alive. Since his appointment in 2013, Anderson has breathed new life into LOEWE through extravagant silhouettes steeped in surreal codes that keep viewers in awe.

For Spring/Summer 2023, he continues to bring a humorous take on design, diving into a bouquet of flowers that blossomed center stage alongside animated outfits pulled from ’90s video games.

Unlike her Fall/Winter 2022 runway presentation of car-shaped garments, puffy leather jackets, molded wool and leather shift dresses, and lace-up sack boots, Anderson opted for a brittle approach while staying true to her notions. fantastic.

Anthuriums were Anderson’s flower of choice this season, showcasing a jumbo-sized version as the focal point of her Paris Fashion Week window display. The somber violins create a delicate mood, quickly making a smooth transition and allowing the sounds of heels to fill the air with an eerie spirit.

Models made their way down the runway in ice-cold, exaggerated-hip gowns, with others seeing their top halves replaced by waxy Anthurium petals molded into reality. Hand-painted flowers decorated bright garments reminiscent of DIY pottery, while leaves clung to footwear straight from the jungle.

Pixelated hoodies, t-shirts and pants were pulled from an 8-bit digital universe, while autumnal layers were magnified through sculpted garments that took on a life of their own, along with two-tone leather coats enhanced with exaggerated sleeves. that hung against the gleaming floor.
