Gucci returns to the men’s fashion week calendar

Alessandro Michele has decided to return to the Men’s Fashion Week calendar. Gucci shared in an announcement that he is moving away from his co-ed shows, separating the men’s and women’s collections for upcoming seasons.

Gucci will join the men’s calendar of Milan Fashion Week, which is scheduled for January 13-17, 2023. Gucci Chairman and CEO Marco Bizzarri said at the recent World Fashion Summit in Milan: “We have limited ourselves to two exhibitions per year, but together with Alejandro [Michele] we decided to put a greater emphasis on menswear, after holding mixed shows for several seasons.” The separation of programs was first announced in 2019, but was put on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Michele made the transition to the mixed format in 2017 and has exhibited mixed collections ever since. The latest move follows the industry trend of returning to menswear shows as seen at brands like Givenchy and Versace.
