WWD Apparel and Retail Summit explores the future of fashion and retail – WWD

The 2022 World Water Day Retail and Apparel CEO Summit, titled “An Era of Agility: The Way Ahead,” is scheduled for October 25-26 and features a list of speakers from retailers, brands and solution providers that are leaders in innovation and future. -ready strategies

Speakers take the stage on Cipriani South Street in New York City at a critical time for the industry. As retailers and brands prepare for the peak holiday shopping season, businesses are challenged by new consumer demands, an intensified competitive landscape, labor shortages, inflation and a looming recession.

But the promise of a better future is in sight with the metaverse, progress on the sustainability front, and technological advances.

Speakers at the summit include Michael Burke, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton; Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Loewe; Winnie Burke, Head of Fashion and Beauty Partnerships at Roblox; Kelly Coller, director of marketing for Haus Labs; Harley Finkelstein, President of Shopify; Kevin Fried, Industry Director of Retail at Google; Sandrine Gadol, Director of Innovation at L’Oréal USA; Todd Kahn, CEO and brand president of Coach; Michelle Gass, CEO of Kohl’s, and Karlie Kloss, supermodel, entrepreneur and philanthropist, among many others (speaker list subject to change).

This year’s themes include:

Finance and Business: how are we empowering and supporting the entrepreneurs of tomorrow?

For Day One, the event begins with breakfast and registration from 7:30-8:30am, with the opening session scheduled to begin at 8:30am. There are three sessions throughout the day, with breaks to network with each other, as well as lunch. The summit closes with a cocktail reception. Later that night is the WWD Honors Dinner and Program. Honorees include Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton’s Michael Burke, Zegna’s Alessandro Sartori and Loewe’s Jonathan Anderson. For the second day, there are two sessions and a networking break.
