“That’s not what an F1 driver should look like, and I remember coming home and my dad saying, ‘You have to change.’ So I couldn’t be myself, and it’s the worst not being able to feel free in your own skin. And of course I think everyone should be able to embrace their own individuality and wear whatever they want.” said the Brit.

Harriman jumped in to ask, “And that matters as much as you win on the track, because there will be boys and girls who will see that and say, ‘Well, if Lewis Hamilton can do that, why not? ME?'”

“Yes, I think that’s one of the reasons why I can be consistent and successful in our work, is that I’ve managed to create these barriers where I don’t post things to be judged, to see what people think. I don’t need anyone’s approval of that. This is who I am, this is how I like to dress, and I go my own way.” Lewis Hamilton concluded.
