Viral Video: This Bangladeshi Dragon Fruit Chai Leaves the Internet in Disgust

The boy is seen in the video putting dragon fruit extract into a glass of hot milk tea.

When videos of bizarre culinary combinations were posted online, opinions often remained divided. Hundreds of viral food combinations, including Chilly’s ice cream, Mirinda’s golgappa and Fanta’s omelette, upset thousands of people. But some of them have also received recognition.

The latest addition to the weird food list is “dragon fruit chai.” Yes, you read it right. It is not a “dragon fruit juice” but a “dragon fruit chai”.

On social media, a video of a boy in Bangladesh selling pitahaya chai has gone viral. The Great Indian Foodie, an Instagram account that features food-related videos from across India, posted the video. In the video, a teenager is seen preparing milk tea with pitahaya pulp.

As shown in the video, the tea seller added dragon fruit extract to the hot tea before pouring it into a glass cup. He continues to stir a tablespoon of condensed milk into the scalding tea, which turns pink.

“Pink Dragon Fruit wali chai! Ye interesting reel aapke liye all the way from Bangladesh (Pink Dragon Fruit tea this interesting reel is for you from Bangladesh),” read the caption of the Instagram post.

Since it was posted on September 18, the video has received more than 104,969 views and more than 2,300 likes on Instagram.

Users gave mixed reactions to this new and unusual combination of drinks.

While some people on the internet were excited to try this unusual recipe, others were skeptical, claiming it was totally weird and horrible.

A puzzled user asked, “Bhai kya maza aata h aise chai peene mai” (Brother, how does drinking this tea make you feel?)

Another commented: “What did I just see?
