THE FOOT LOCKER FOUNDATION BRINGS THE FOOTWEAR, FASHION AND SPORTS INDUSTRIES TOGETHER FOR THE ANNUAL “ON OUR FIES” FUNDRAISING GALA

The Foot Locker Foundation, Inc., the charitable arm of Foot Locker, Inc., the New York-based specialty athletic retailer, brought together members of the footwear, fashion and athletic industries for its annual fundraising gala. funds “On Our Feet” on Thursday, June 2 at Pier Sixty in New York City at Chelsea Piers.

The theme of this year’s event, “Getting Back on Our Feet,” was a celebration of how far we’ve come in the past two years and an important reminder of the work that lies ahead to improve youth upward mobility and build a more equitable world. and inclusive for all.

“The On Our Feet gala has long highlighted the importance of community service, empowerment and investment in the next generation of change makers,” said Richard Johnson, president and chief executive officer of Foot Locker, Inc. “The event of this year is particularly poignant as we get closer to getting back on our feet to recognize how much progress we have made together and the opportunities that lie ahead. Now, more than ever, we must take a critical eye on how we invest in initiatives and programs that can affect real change in communities across the country.”

Representatives from sports and athletic retailers including Nike, Adidas, Converse, Puma, Champion, Crocs, New Balance, Reebok, Under Armor and Vans were in attendance along with the event’s guest of honor, Shaheen Holloway, who was joined by the emcee of the night. , Christian Crosby, for an onstage interview about community investment, perseverance, and the importance of giving back.

For more than 20 years, the Foot Locker Foundation has supported youth initiatives and programs that seek to improve upward mobility and empower communities. In addition to the Foot Locker Scholarship Program, the Foundation supports the mission of organizations such as UNCF, Two Ten Footwear Foundation, and the Boys & Girls Club of America.
