There is nothing more extravagant, fabulous or simply beautiful than haute couture and twice a year designers have the opportunity to present the most intricate and complex collections in the French capital. The first day of Paris Haute Couture Week alone already showcased spectacular embroidery work by Dior and impeccable draping by Schiaparelli. However, all the fashion theatrics could not be contained on the catwalk and, like years past, it has infiltrated the cobbled streets. In fact, as a fashion editor mentioned this morning, even the most bizarre of clothing feels comfortable in couture street style.
American socialite and influencer Olivia Palermo was by no means extravagant, but she seamlessly reinvented herself from head to toe in vibrant mint green for Giambattista Valli. Mexican actress Eiza González also attended for the Italian designer in a floral chiffon dress. While Julia Fox walked the runway, Coco Rocha walked the Parisian streets in an otherworldly lace dress for Iris Van Herpen. At Schiaparelli, the likes of Hunter Schafer and Emma Watson wore Daniel Roseberry’s larger-than-life creations.
