Raf Simons made his London debut this week, following a postponement of London Fashion Week SS23 following the Queen’s passing.

Inside Printworks in London, the Belgian designer revealed his Spring/Summer 2023 collection and kicked off a huge post-Frieze party. Nearly 1,000 guests took their seats inside the converted newspaper printing factory turned nightclub; and given the setting, the collection was ready for a rave.

Taking a stripped-down approach, the lineup dressed in references to ’80s punk and subverted tailoring, all of which came together under the chaotic lighting of a techno dance arena. The range included skintight leggings, technical playsuits, knit tops, biker jackets, pleated shorts, sheer tank tops and many more clever silhouettes.

Featured across the range, the logo fuses Gucci’s Double-G and Palace’s Tri-Ferg motifs. In addition to clothing, the line also includes a MOTO GUZZI V7 motorcycle and a double-branded Palace Gucci safe. In particular, the collaboration marks the debut of Palace’s women’s ready-to-wear designs.

Louis Vuitton

First seen at Asnières in the Louis Vuitton Family House, then Singapore and Los Angeles, Louis Vuitton’s “200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries” traveling exhibition has landed in its fourth and final destination: the iconic Barneys New York building.

Inside, the showcase includes 200 extraordinary transformations of the iconic Louis Vuitton trunk, carried out by talent and friends of the Maison in virtually every cultural domain. Featured include Supreme, Gloria Steinem, BTS,
Pat McGrath, Nigo and Fornasetti, though there are countless designs to peruse across four floors. Notably, in the basement there is a “Residence”, where the internal teams of Louis Vuitton have been relocated to conceptualize and build the showcases for the exhibition.

“This project has always been about creativity, a true tribute to Louis’ ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit. We get to see how a cross-section of talent responded to the same brief while taking a moment to appreciate the man himself,” Faye McLeod, Louis Vuitton Director of Visual Image, said in a statement. “The ‘Residence’ concept, newly developed for this final stop, is also a true gift of creativity – it brings the artistic expression at the heart of this project to New York City.”

Louis Vuitton’s “200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries” exhibit will be open at the Barneys New York Building from October 14 to December 31.
