The 9/11 Beauty Releases We Tried and Loved

September was a lot. Not only did fashion month take over our calendars, but we also got way too many new celebrity skincare brands that no one asked for. (I still haven’t gotten over Brad Pitt’s launch of creams and serums retailing for nearly $400.) Despite the absurdity of it all, some beauty brands actually put out really good products, and most of the ones I tried (except one) retail for well under $400.

Through New York Fashion Week, everyday events, and an impromptu vacation, these nine new products really made my fashion month easier. Were there many other releases? Yes. Did I have time to try each and every one of them? No. September was pure survival. Fortunately, I had time to try new concealers that made me look alive and a very expensive skincare product that worked wonders (since I didn’t have time for a facial).

Milk Makeup Future Fluid All Over Medium Coverage Hydrating Concealer

There were many concealers that were released this summer, but Milk Makeup has dethroned them. The brand’s latest offers very light to medium coverage and, thanks to its moisturizing properties, feels more like a skincare product than makeup. The real winning point of this concealer? the applicator I never knew how much easier my makeup process would be with a finer shape.

OFF-WHITE Paperwork Printing Face and body Solid pigment

Off-White is experimenting beyond fragrance. Last month, he released the creamiest, most powerful eyeliners I’ve ever tried. And after a few tests, I realized that they are more than coatings! They are facial and body pigments as well. I stuck to using them as eyeliners, because I don’t do much body art, but the smooth texture made winged eyeliner a breeze. Plus, they’re available in a ton of colors that show up extremely pigmented on darker skin tones.

Dior J'adore Parfum d'Eau

I promise you this doesn’t smell anything like the original J’adore perfume. It is a soft and floral fragrance, compared to the iconic and powerful smell of J’adore. It may not be as durable as the original, but it’s enough for a casual day.

Disney Fantasia and ONE/SIZE Bit of Magic Highlighter

Last month, Disney collaborated on Patrick Starrr’s One/Size, a truly magical moment. One/Size is loved for its powder foundation, but for this capsule it created a face and eye palette, a fun Mickey-shaped makeup sponge, a brush, and this amazing gel-to-powder highlighter. One touch and your complexion is left bright and iridescent. I loved wearing it on vacation without makeup, because it gave me all the radiance I needed in the sun.

Tarte Maneater After Dark Eyeshadow Palette

This summer, I decided to polish up my eyeshadow game. When it came to choosing the right palette to start my journey, Tarte was always at the top of my list, because I know that their shades are pigmented and they offer a wide variety of colors. Enter your newest palette. The Maneater After Dark is an option for eyeshadow newbies like me. The 24 shades range from shimmer and matte to shimmery finishes that are perfect for parties. (If you’ve already started your holiday shopping, this is the perfect palette to choose from.)

Ami Colé eyebrow duo

Ami Colé’s releases are always hits. His new Brow Duo is no exception. The brow pencil fills in and shapes your brows in under 30 seconds, while the styling gel glides across the brow for all-day hold. What I liked the most was the lack of flaking of the styling gel. I stopped using these types of products in the past due to how flaky and sticky they can get, but this one passed the test. It comes in four shades ranging from a light brown to a deep, rich black. In just two steps and less than a minute, you can have the perfect eyebrows.

about-face Cheek Freak Blush Balm

Halsey’s brand has been around for a while, but these new blushes were the first face-changing product I tried. As soon as I saw the range of shades, I knew I had to try them out. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was surprised at how buildable the formula is. And the finish is the right amount of shimmer and blush.

Bright Eye Gel Cream with Guava and Vitamin C Glow Recipe

Unfortunately, dark circles were a recurring problem for me during New York Fashion Week due to the early mornings and late nights. The cure for my puffy eyes was this gel cream from Glow Recipe. The peptide and niacinamide blend perfectly targets dark circles and reinforces elasticity under the eyes. Most good gel creams are thick and heavy, but this lightweight one does the job just fine.

La Prairie Skin Caviar Harmony L'extrait

I know, I know: $820 is a steep price for a product. Let me explain. First, it was given to me this summer for National Caviar Day because of course it’s part of the Skin Caviar line, which happens to be one of my favorite luxury skincare collections because of the way the products They leave my skin smooth and hydrated. . This one specifically is what I refer to as “my facial in a bottle.” It strengthens and contours my face without the hands of an esthetician, but simply with the caviar-infused microspheres that melt into the skin (and occasionally my skincare tools). If you compare it to the price of monthly facials, the math adds up. It’s a splurge, but worth it if you want to slow down on facials.

Arkive All Day Daily Use Shampoo

This month, a British hairdresser launched his own line of products that deeply nourish all hair types. Our deputy style editor, Joanna Nikas, has beautiful long locks and fell in love with this release after the first use.

Ourself HA+ Regenerating Serum

Ourself has become one of my favorite brands over the last year due to how fast the results come in. This new serum is called botox in a bottle due to the technology used to have visibly firmer skin. No needles and smoother skin with less aging? Sold out!
