Rosalía presents herself at the Louis Vuitton show at Paris Fashion Week

PARIS, Jan 19 (Reuters) – Louis Vuitton upended the traditional runway format with a performance by Spanish singer Rosalía taking center stage at the brand’s menswear show in Paris on Thursday.

Rosalía opened the live event for the LVMH-owned fashion house (LVMH.PA), emerging from a darkened stage draped in a white puffer jacket and loose track pants, sunglasses draped around her face.

The Latin Grammy Award-winning pop star animated the stage, designed to look like someone’s home, stretched out on the couch, jumping on a bed and singing from the top of a bright yellow car.

The models paraded, donning long jackets with cool lapels, clutching sparkly bags, their looks topped off with curvy bucket hats and baseball caps.

The label emphasized outerwear with elongated silhouettes, ranging from tailored coats to puffy bomber jackets, and sprinkled some artwork and logos into the mix.

Vuitton’s menswear show last June featured Florida’s Marching 100 band and rapper Kendrick Lamar.

The world’s largest fashion brand last week named Pietro Beccari as CEO, replacing industry veteran Michael Burke.
