Who: elizabeth purpich
What: Longhorn Mini Bag Launch
Where: Elizabeth Purpich Collection
Why: Forget those trendy viral Bama Rush TikTok videos. Houston-based handbag designer Beth Purpich champions what she calls “college luxury.” A former college athlete (she played basketball at Auburn) with a flair for design, Purpich uses only the finest materials and most talented craftsmen to produce her collections. Among her biggest hits to date is the Longhorn bag, which debuted as a calfskin top handle and found an ideal ambassador in Austin stylist Loreal Sarkisian, who happens to be the wife of the University of Texas football coach. Steve Sarkisian. Sarkisian, always impeccably dressed (the woman wore Chanel on the sidelines), wore the new miniature version (stadium-approved size) in burnt orange alligator to last weekend’s game against Oklahoma, in which the Longhorns won 49- 0. Maybe it works as a good luck charm too?
