Get ready for the Noni Fashion Show Extravaganza. As always, it will be a Brooklyn mega event with its African-inspired handmade dresses. Fashion designer Nonye Anyadiegwu, also known as “Noni”, is the founder of Noni’s Fashion Show Extravaganza. Noni was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. She came to the United States to pursue higher education. She worked in some high-profile corporate positions, but had a strong passion for fashion. She then decided to pursue her career as a fashion designer. After her decision, she opened her first business called “Noni”. Noni expressed during Amsterdam news editor Nayaba Arinde’s “Back to Basic” radio show that she did not go to fashion design school and that she was more of a passion. “I enjoy making men and women look fabulous,” she said Noni. “We have clothes in the store but we can also customize.”
As the founder of Noni’s Fashion Show, the Nigerian aims to create unique and trendy clothes for her customers. The store is currently located at 1215 Nostrand Ave., Brooklyn,
“I find it very important to focus on satisfying my clients in the designs I customize for them. It’s all about focusing on the right fabrics, colors and sizing. There is nothing better than seeing your client happy with a design you made for him”.
The show will take place at a new venue located at 400 Lincoln Road between Nostrand and New York with free parking for patrons. Tickets are on sale for $50 general and $100 VIP. The dress code is to dress to impress, so she says that people should go out in their best outfit to win best dress. Food will be served, as well as a dance competition. A portion of the proceeds from the fashion show will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
