It’s no secret that the New Year is synonymous with long lists of resolutions. For Toronto’s Alder, that includes working towards a more circular fashion industry, but with a literal laundry list! On January 10, the brand will introduce its ReCreate Market, a program that allows customers to bring in their used Alder clothing in exchange for credit. The team will then breathe new life into said items by cleaning, repairing, refreshing and recycling them. Not only does this reduce textile waste loads, but it offers community members the opportunity to purchase the brand’s premium styles at a more affordable price point, at 40 to 60 percent off the original price.
