Michael Beasley, Former Miami Heat First-Round Pick, Goes Hip

Former Miami Heat No. 1 draft pick Michael Beasley spent 11 years in the NBA and had a solid career.

Now, he is moving into the fashion business. Beasley recently spoke to Inside The Heat about her new clothing line, “Easy Street.”

“Easy Street brand. Easy Street Family Brand,” Beasley said. “It’s literally a brand I like, I just like to be creative and engage with the world.”

Beasley played for the Heat two separate times (a total of four seasons) and helped them make the playoffs three times. He said the clothing line is an offshoot of his education in Maryland. Before becoming the No. 2 pick in 2008, Beasley dealt with a difficult childhood.

“The logo is literally my face,” Beasley said. “The best I can draw. I feel like everyone in the world can draw a stick figure, right? Just a circle and a dot, dot, whatever. If we sit there and draw the emotions on the stick figures, they’ll all look the same, like the flat eyes. So, the flat eye, which represents my lazy eye and the X, which represents me surviving everything. I died before. Just keep smiling through it.”

The Easy Street tag will be released for pre-order availability on January 26, exclusively available at IN-HOUSE. Sign up for pre-order access is open and available here.

“It was supposed to be released at the beginning of the year,” Beasley said. “We were aiming, we were going to do a soft drop in July. And get ready for the big 3. But we delayed it until Christmas. So literally the next two weeks.”
