Kering and Marie Claire launch “Fashion Our Future”, an initiative dedicated to sustainable fashion

Kering is pleased to announce that we are launching a global initiative on women and responsible fashion called “Fashion Our Future” in collaboration with Marie Claire.

As a leader in the luxury industry, Kering has a responsibility to lead innovation and sustainable luxury. As an influential global media brand, Marie Claire has a unique opportunity to inform, inspire and mobilize consumers and drive global change in the way people consume.

Kering and Marie Claire will leverage their combined knowledge, skills and access to industry experts, celebrities and activists to jointly determine the best and most persuasive content topics, panel topics, speakers and partners.

This new initiative will focus on women, fashion and sustainability, targeting the general public.

To raise awareness and encourage action, we will launch a global social media campaign around sustainability. The campaign will showcase people’s daily efforts for sustainability as they talk about a change they have made in their daily lives to become more sustainable. To be part of this global movement, use the hashtag #BeTheChange and tag the official Marie Claire and Kering channels.

A first flagship event will take place in Paris, at La Caserne on June 16 and it will be a day full of talks, workshops, exhibitions and seminars on fashion and sustainability. During this event, we will do the following:

– Have multiple exhibitions that show pieces responsible for Gucci, Balenciaga Y Bottega Veneta.

– There will be one Materials Innovation Laboratory (MIL) stand where the public can touch and feel innovative and responsible textiles from this Kering resource center based in Milan.

– There will be a recycling workshop where participants can recycle leftover leather to create their own bag.

– There will be multiple conversations Y round tables about animal welfare, pollution, innovation, vintage fashion, climate change, women acting for change and more.

– We will also welcome many designer change’s agents Y influential people including Sebastien Kopp, the founder of VEJA, Suzie de Givenchy, Aïssa Maïga, Erin Wasson and more.
