K-Way FW23 show at Milan Fashion Week

K-Way transported Milanese spectators to a Parisian cafe for their Fall/Winter 2023 show last night. Held in a recreation of the Café de la Paix, the restaurant where founder Léon-Claude Duhamel came up with the idea for the brand one rainy day in 1965, the celebs sat shoulder to shoulder in wicker chairs before being invited to to pastry. prepared by the chefs of the emblematic Parisian.

But when the show started we were no longer in Paris, but at a rave. Expressed by some of the collection’s key looks, K-Way featured multidimensional layering comprising three jackets stacked on top of each other, split open to reveal the technical details underneath. In the opening orange look, we find shell jackets over packable nylon raincoats paired with shiny rubber shorts carved into a quilted pattern and paired with nylon leg warmers, coming together for something inherently technical.

Similarly, an all-black ensemble introduced pleated materials that dominated much of the best parts of the collection, but here it worked with a pair of shorts. K-Way stepped into the world of tailoring this season with shirts, ties and formal accents like knee-high socks or Vibram-equipped boots, but kept his identity at the root of it all in this all-black outfit that was finished off with his parka coat. exaggerated.

But it was the concept looks that really stole the show on K-Way. Three final pieces mixed office wear, pants and knitwear with a scarf of jackets together, a look that included multiple jackets that hung from the body of a single oversized jacket and a dress. Here, all the colors of the rainbow were added to the mix as the jackets were tied around the model and sewn together, marking a dramatic display to close the show.

Assembling the K-Way collection was his sustainable initiative, as everything was made from jacquard cottons, mohair and merino wool, Loro Piana’s “STORM SYSTEM” technology, “FRIENDLY”, which is made from recycled nylon scraps adhered to a silver membrane. — and, finally, “MOLINA” recycled down padding.
