Indian content creators make their runway debut at New York Fashion Week

Heralding a massive hit for the local content creator community, celebrated Indian dressmaker Archana Kochhar has attracted leading social media influencers of Indian origin as sensationals for her fashion outings at New York Fashion Week and the London Fashion Week. Her presentation at New York Fashion Week was held in association with The Society at the Hall Of Mirrors on September 11.

Delhi-based husband and wife duo Gaurav Taneja and Ritu Rathee Taneja of Flying Beast fame joined Mumbai-based lifestyle influencer Aashna Hedge to walk the runway at the Week of the New York Fashion, while Mumbai-based entertainment influencer Nagma Mirajkar will walk the runway at London Fashion Week, setting the stage for more representation of influential Indian presenters on global platforms.

This creative confluence marked the debut of these Indian social media stars at international fashion weeks, and also marks the first time they have been featured on the main catwalk in the history of New York Fashion Week and Fashion Week. of London Fashion.

Other American social media influencers set to perform at New York Fashion Week include Tik-Tok’s favorite ‘it’ girl, Mckenzi Brooke, and teen actor/musician sensation Gavin Magnus, who will walk for one of the world’s youngest self-made billionaires and child reality star, Isabella Barrett.

Kochhar London Fashion Week will be held in association with the British Fashion Council and Vivz World Fashion Week on September 17 in London.

Kochhar, who had booked film actress Sunny Leone and acid attack survivor Reshma Qureshi for her first showing at New York Fashion Week, is the only fashion designer selected from India to support the campaign. Make In India (which was launched by Shri Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, in 2014) in these two reputable fashion weeks this year.

His New York Fashion Week collection, Jharokha, highlights the importance of sustainability in fashion. A marriage of traditional handcrafted fabrics and inimitable Western silhouettes, the display case boasted an explosion of color and abstract design. The collection focused primarily on locally grown, low-carbon handmade textiles selected by female weavers from the interior of Madhya Pradesh state.
