Illustrious brands and organizations reveal new sustainability actions at Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition

The summit focused on the theme ‘Alliances for a new era’. Under the theme, the event brought together leaders to foster pre-competitive collaboration within the fashion industry and examined atypical alliances between industries, in a bid to accelerate the transition to a net positive industry.

The content was designed to be the boldest yet and focused on challenging topics and honest discussions with the most diverse voices. The program covered topics of ‘What is even a sustainable brand?’ to ‘subverting historical fashion exclusion’, to ‘supercharged storytelling’ to ‘metaverse impact and decentralized futures’.

published GFA The GFA Monitor – a new report to guide fashion leaders towards a net positive fashion industry. It presents consolidated guidance according to five key sustainability priorities. Building alliances through shared industry knowledge, each priority includes expert insights from GFA’s data partner, Higg, and its impact partners, including: Fair Labor Association (FLA), Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP), Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Apparel Impact Institute, and Textile Exchange. GFA also announced the launch of the Global Circular Fashion Forum (GCFF), a global initiative, to be supported by GIZ, to stimulate local action in textile manufacturing countries to accelerate and scale the recycling of post-industrial textile waste. The forum will bring together stakeholders from various circularity programs and regions, sharing knowledge and leveraging best practices in an effort to achieve a just, scalable and long-term transition to a circular fashion industry. This year’s Summit also featured an Innovation Forum, which allowed companies small and large to come together with 24 providers of sustainable solutions, equipping them with the tools to turn words into meaningful action. During the two days of the Summit, more than 300 facilitated business meetings were held between fashion companies and providers of sustainable solutions.
