USA TODAY contacted Lyft to obtain payment data from drivers in different cities. Lyft reported average pay of more than $24 an hour “including tips and bonuses and net of increased gas charges” for the month of March, according to a company spokesperson, who said city-level data was not available.
This figure is a national average, so incomes in your area may vary significantly. You can consider the additional maintenance costs your vehicle might incur before deciding if it’s worth driving for a rideshare service.
Annual salary estimates on job recruitment websites for Lyft drivers vary widely. In fact, it has a low figure of $14,000 and a high figure of $97,000, with an average of $29,380. Zip Recruiter estimates an average annual salary of $53,343 for drivers in the United States.
