Halifax Soccer Player Joins ‘Love Island’ in ‘Ted Lasso’ Style

“This week, a new hot bomb enters the village.”

Sorry Halifax Town fans. Looks like one of your players took a cue from Ted Lasso’s Jamie Tartt and is joining Love Island. For those unfamiliar with the show, Love Island is a reality dating show where contestants share a villa and try to find a possible love connection among the other singles.

And it looks like Jamie Allen is taking the plunge.

However, Allen’s move is truly a bombshell in every sense of the term, as this announcement comes just over a month after FC Halifax Town announced the footballer’s new contract. They even said that he had “compromised his future” with the club. That leaves some wondering what the team’s thoughts are on this new venture.

Well, “the matter will be reviewed upon his return.”

This should sound vaguely familiar to some football fans, or at least those who have watched Apple TV’s Emmy-winning hit show Ted Lasso. Tartt, played by Phil Dunster, skipped Manchester City for Lust Conquers All. He was soon sacked and Man City made it clear they didn’t want him. Lasso eventually makes the controversial move of bringing Tartt back to AFC Richmond.

Let’s see if Allen’s jokes work in his favor, unlike Tartt.
