Delta launches runway collection

In connection with Los Angeles Fashion Week, Delta Air Lines collaborated with emerging designers and Issa Rae to produce and promote travel-inspired collections. The Delta Runway Collection uses small businesses for this limited edition collection of clothing and accessories.

Issa Rae announced the partnership and joined the Delta collaboration development team. Issa Rae’s new show Rap Sh!t, a comedy series about a pair of estranged high school friends who come together to form a rap group is on HBO now and stars rap duo City Girls, Shawna and Mia. This is one of several projects that Rae is connected to.

Collection Highlights

The clothing and accessories collection designed by travelers for travelers features a number of categories. Ana Mero Swim, Cadence (toiletries), Ember Niche (eyeglasses), Ponto (shoes), Classic Six (capsule closets), and Oyster (luxury comfort). From the Delta Runway Collection launch website, here are product descriptions and brand images. They have used.

ANA MERO SWIMMING: THE MERO SUIT

A million hotel pools. A bathing suit.

There are eight different ways to wear Ana’s signature swimsuit, exclusively designed in Delta Red and black for this collection, meaning you can spend more than a week on the beach and not repeat a look once. Sizing inclusive and designed for every body type, this suit also comes with a limited-edition Delta Runway Collection Drip Drying Bag for easy packing, even if you’re taking a dip right before your flight. (Which you definitely should).

Ana names her designs after empowered women, so we decided to name this one after her.

EMBER NICHE: JET-SET SPECS

Is it even a vacation if you don’t bring your sunglasses?

For the Delta Runway Runway Collection, Ember Niche customized two of her signature frames, the Dru and Izzy, in four travel-inspired limited-edition colors: Cityscape Sunset, Flamingo Pink, Mountaintop Green and Seaside Seafoam.

And traveling with eyeglasses just got easier, with a Delta Red carrying case that clips to the side of a bag or carry-on, as well as unique drawstrings that let you nap in the seat without dropping frames.

The thick plastic frames retail for $225 and are offered in four colors and two styles.

OYSTER: OYSTER X DELTA

“Travel is a sport.”

That’s Oyster’s motto, and these exclusive athleisure-inspired looks from the Delta Runway Runway Collection are the outfits of champions. Made from premium fleece, you’ll look just as comfortable on the jetbridge as you do on the catwalk.

Most importantly, while we can’t necessarily recommend that you go straight from a red eye to an investor pitch…if you had to, these sportswear spacers would definitely be the outfit to do it with.

Hoodies and sweatpants (sold separately) sell for $215 (each), a matching Traveling is a Sport hat is $62.

CLASSIC SIX: HANDHELD CAPSULE CABINET

Do you still check a bag on each flight? Let’s change that.

Designed to mix and match, these timeless wardrobe staples will help you pack less and do more on your next trip. Three of the Classic Six capsule wardrobe pieces – the Twiggy Dress, Katharine Blazer and Donna Shirt – have been reimagined for the Delta Runway Runway Collection, featuring limited-edition fabrics and prints and exclusive Delta Red yarn details.

The carry-on cloakroom starts at $185.

The following two collections are sold out.

CADENCE: SET IN FLIGHT

Morning routine? Routine before bed? How about… the in-flight routine?

Throw out your single-use plastic toiletries and invest in Cadence’s intuitive and endlessly reusable recycled pods. This limited-edition collection exclusive to Delta Runway Runway includes six mosaic icons designed to label everything you’ll need on your next flight, from earplugs to medications, hand lotion and a place to store your jewelry while you nap.

Of course, we can only make suggestions; feel free to customize them and fill your capsules with whatever you want.

Cadence toiletries

Look for Cadence when stocks restock at $85.

PONTO: THE PACIFIC TO-GO

Takeoffs are now easier. And, for that matter, so did the plugins.

This limited-edition version of Ponto’s signature shoe, the Pacific, is part sneaker, part dress shoe, slip-on, all style. Unisex and made from recycled and bio-based materials, the Pacific To-Go is a timeless design and wardrobe staple. Durable and light as a feather to fit in any carry-on, this shoe was designed for comfort, fit and versatility, and comes with a dedicated protective bag. And, perhaps most importantly for frequent flyers, its elastic closure allows for easy on and off for easy TSA and kick back for a nap in Delta One ® .

conclusion

Delta was smart to collaborate with fresh new designers and Issa Rae for LA Fashion Week. They lent their voice and brand to small businesses that are trying to do something new and unique while appearing stylish, adventurous, and forward-thinking. While I’m not a customer of most of these brands, it’s true that Oyster’s Traveling Is a Sport gear is my clear favourite. I hope that more airlines or hotel chains will partner in this way to offer a new way to experience the brand and something that will resonate with customers as a travel team.

What do you think? Did Delta hit the nail on the head with this collaboration?
