Alexander McQueen returns to London

Fashion month may be over, but all eyes were on London again today as Sarah Burton unveiled her Spring Summer ’23 sale for Alexander McQueen (the designer had always intended to show off the calendar, while other brands are rearranging their plans after they canceled LFW shows to mourn the Queen). The set of the show was probably familiar to fans, as it was the same clear inflatable bubble that was used in October 2021. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle was also a message that continued in the collection, which was 95% derived. of sustainable fabrics. As for repurposing, Burton paid homage to the late great founder by bringing back the famous ‘bumster’ pant silhouette from his pivotal mid-1990s collections. we live? How do you play with the proportions of her body? How do you reveal things without it being completely obvious? How do you do it subtly? It’s always about a woman dressing for a woman. It’s not a masculine look,” she said backstage about her approach this season. “I wanted everything to be very precisely cut – the tailoring dissected and without much frills on the surface. I wanted to embrace the female form, so even when they had volume, I wanted to cut it up and dissect it, so you still see and celebrate the body.” As such, the collection also included recurring hits: painstakingly detailed crystal embellishments, bustiers in buttery-smooth leather, rugged girl outerwear, spray-paint effect suits, and tailoring so sleek you could cut corners with it. Paul Mescal catches up with Dakota Johnson for an interview

Move over Connell’s Chain, hello Mescal’s Bottega Boots. Irish actor Paul Mescal, who has found himself front row at Prada since he rose to meteoric fame as the emotionally tortured teenager Connell in Normal People, was given the interview treatment for the publication’s fall issue. In other words: thigh-high boots and leather, a beaded tie and a fur-trimmed coat, like the style of his compatriot Gerry O’Kane. In the chat, the 26-year-old reminisces with former co-star Dakota Johnson about working together, including revealing that the first scene he shot for a movie involved kissing Johnson. “I think it would be fine if that happened to me now. But I think kissing someone on your first day of work, let alone your first fucking job, let alone Dakota Johnson, you’re like, “Okay, great.” But you could tell I was nervous and you were exceptionally charming and kind. Actually, I think as a result of that, it made us close. I would have hated you otherwise, to be honest,” he laughed. Read the full feature here.
