Linda Evangelista is the cover star of UK Vogue’s September issue

Reverence! Styled by Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful and photographed by Steven Meisel, Linda Evangelista poses for British Vogue’s September issue in a stunning array of Chanel, Richard Quinn, Alexandre Vauthier and Fendi. The gorgeous editorial is, notably, the 57-year-old’s first since her much-publicized trauma caused by a botched CoolSculpting procedure. In the article, the 1990s runway legend tells Voguette veteran Sarah Harris about the ordeal and emotional toll it took on her after being “disfigured,” saying, “If I had known, the side effects could include losing your livelihood and it would be over. so depressed that you hate yourself… I would not have taken that risk.” Having settled a lawsuit with CoolSculpting’s parent company, she is ready to move on with her life; She was even recently named the star of Fendi’s new season campaign. Harris explains that the mother-of-one is “eager to make it clear that for this Vogue cover and fashion history, makeup artist Pat McGrath gently drew her face, jawline and neck back with duct tape and elastics.” Evangelista further explains, “That’s not my jaw and neck in real life, and I can’t walk around with duct tape and elastics everywhere… You know what? I’m trying to love myself just the way I am, but for photos. … Let’s always think we’re here to create fantasies. We’re creating dreams. I think it’s allowed. Also, all my insecurities are resolved in these pictures, so I have to do what I love to do.” Read the full feature here.
