Chicago Fashion Week makes a scene |

Mark my words, Chicago is set to become the new fashion capital of the Midwest! Developed by the fashion bar, a fashion business consulting firm, Chicago is in its eighth season with its own collection of shows featuring the work of well-established and emerging local brands and designers. These shows will take place at Water Tower Place (Level 3) on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.

Breaking out and forging its own identity within the world of fashion, Chicago Fashion Week provides the city with an opportunity to draw on its unique flavor of diversity, culture and talent. Models and designers from all walks of life are featured to showcase their collections and talent with the utmost respect and dignity they deserve. Alexis Aurora, for example, a model and alopecia advocate will walk gracefully down the runway for multiple lineups presented at Chicago Fashion Week.

From April 28 to May 1, the designers will present their collections focused on different identities and styles. Lineups for these shows will include transmedia, ecological, modern and ready-to-wear fashion, beach and swimwear, urban and streetwear, modest clothing and nightwear.

To kick off the anticipation for the upcoming shows, the Fashion Bar hosted a designer launch party on April 16, hosted by long-time brand ambassador, creative director and fashion consultant Florinda Fiore. From the red carpet to glamorous interviews conducted by major media outlets, this event gave a taste of the high life.

Compared to fashion in New York or Paris, Chicago has that special spark. The value of inclusivity is what makes Chicago’s fashion core unique. The direction of fashion in the Midwest looks bright and impactful, and you have Chicago to thank for that. You should consider attending this Chicago Fashion Week, but hurry because tickets continue to sell out fast. You will be impressed by the visions of the future of fashion!
