NEW RECRUIT: Chanel creative director Virginie Viard has added some notable talent to her design team, WWD has learned.

Alexandre Morgado, a nine-year Givenchy veteran, joined the French house to work with Viard on special projects, including VIP apparel.

A Chanel spokeswoman confirmed the appointment to WWD, but did not provide additional details.

Chanel is no doubt very actively dressing its bevy of celebrity brand ambassadors, including Kristen Stewart, Penelope Cruz, Charlotte Casiraghi, and Blackpink’s Jenny, as well as other celebrities for red carpet events, such as Giveon in 2022. Grammy.

The minaudière is created from over 10,000 crystals set in shades of brilliant siam red mixed with scarlet and burgundy. The stem is shaded in a gradient range of light gold crystals with opal accents. The cap features flat pearls in various sizes designed to create texture and dimension. The interior is lined with metallic leather.

Each piece is hand painted with a polished brass frame and removable shoulder chain that includes the Katy Perry Play locket.

The Judith Leiber Couture x Katy Perry minaudière will retail for $6,195 and will be sold on the brand’s website and at its store at Resorts World Las Vegas, where its show will take place. It will also be offered at select luxury specialty stores beginning in the fall.

NEW INNOVATIONS: The Bangladeshi fashion showcase “Made in Bangladesh Week” returns this November.
