Woman goes viral for documenting her experience in Texas

He has three separate series on his TikTok: Life in Texas, How Texas Has Changed Me, and Things in Texas That Still Confuse Me.

A mom who moved to Round Rock from California a year ago has been documenting all the ins and outs she’s learned about becoming a Texan, nice or not.

“You can break a sweat when you’re still wet from the shower,” he said in a TikTok video about what he learned living in Texas for a full year.

July marks one year since Sam Speiller called Texas home.

“I was prepared for a lot of things in terms of the culture shock of moving, but I just wasn’t prepared for some of the most basic elements of living in Texas,” she said.

She uses TikTok to shine a light on some of the things she’s learned living in the Lone Star State.

“It’s been really, really fun and fun for me to experience people enjoying my discovery. It’s so easy to do because it’s just what comes to mind throughout the day as I try to cope with the heat and stuff like that.” Speiller said.

This Austin mom went viral on TikTok by revealing that she is the muse of the popular late 2000s pop-punk anthem “Dear Maria, Count Me In” by All Time Low.

She says the response she’s gotten from her videos is mostly positive. Many Texans even agree with what she points out.

“It seems to have helped others to re-appreciate things that they had grown accustomed to,” he said.

Speiller says that, in general, he loves everything related to living in Texas, so he definitely plans to continue with these types of videos.
