Boy Meets Girl X Blueberry will be sold in the metaverse – WWD

Boy Meets Girl and the House of Blueberry will launch a four-piece digital fashion collection that will be sold exclusively at Blueberry’s Metaverse Fashion Boutique and Catalog, beginning January 10.

The four digital wearables represent some of the best-selling Boy Meets Girl brand staples in the physical world, including leggings, sweatpants and two signature T-shirts. Roblox users can browse the virtual boutique and test designs, creating custom digital identities for their avatars.

“As someone who was an early adopter of virtual marketplaces, this was a natural partnership for me,” said Stacy Igel, Founder and Creative Director of Boy Meets Girl. “I am delighted to bring Boy Meets Girl to the metaverse in collaboration with House of Blueberry. During COVID-19, my son Dylan learned a lot about virtual worlds and has been teaching me about Roblox. So you can imagine how excited I am to share this collaboration and how excited he is too.”

Mishi McDuff, CEO and Founder of Blueberry, added: “We love the Boy Meets Girl brand mission and can’t wait to bring that positive energy into the metaverse. We believe the iconic Boy Meets Girl brand will truly come to life on Roblox and will be a fun and welcoming virtual experience for our community.”

The t-shirts, leggings, and hoodie sell for 85 Robux, and the hat costs 65 Robux.

Currently building the largest digital fashion house in the universe, House of Blueberry has sold over 20 million assets, 10,000 units in inventory, and over 400,000 unique customers. She has collaborations with Jonathan Simkhai and the Broadway musical “Dear Evan Hansen.”

Roblox has 43.2 million daily active users and 67 percent are under the age of 16.

Boy Meets Girl will take his anti-bullying mission into the metaverse using positive messages in Blueberry’s virtual boutique.
