9 Copenhagen Fashion Week SS2023 Featured Designers To Know

Probably the most recognizable brand to come out of Copenhagen in recent years, Ganni has been around for quite some time. This season was no different. The brand, led by husband and wife team Nicolaj and Ditte Reffstrup, unveiled its Spring 2023 “Joyride” collection at sunset on Ofelia Plads, the open-air harbor front overlooking the Danish Opera House and Royal Palace. It’s complete with all the brand’s fan favorites: modernized denim with wider fits, babydoll dresses in bright hues, sporty silhouettes in leopard print.

But this season, Ganni welcomed the mood swings with tailored evening wear: The final look was a chain-link silver mesh gown, worn with an open blazer and high-waisted undergarments.

“We called the collection Joyride because it’s really about Copenhagen being where our heart is,” Ditte Reffstrup wrote on Instagram. “There’s a feeling of being in the city in the summer that I can’t explain, the energy pulses, it really gets your groove going.”

This collection included Ganni’s third collaboration with sustainable Icelandic brand 66°NORTH, known for making extreme-weather clothing from used rolls of fabric and recycled materials. In a more environmentally friendly innovation, other clothing styles were made from innovative textile waste regeneration technology, Infinna, while some footwear used Vegea, a material made from grape skins left over from wine production. .
