8 Fall 2022 Beauty Trends That Are All Over Instagram Already

Even though we’re in the middle of a heat wave, I can’t help but daydream about fall beauty trends. After bright summer manicures and slicked-back buns, I’m ready to switch up my daily beauty routines and try something new. As a TZR social media editor, I tend to see the start of most trends on Instagram. After going through my various saved folders, I’ve narrowed down the eight beauty looks I’m most excited about this fall.

In the past, I have kept my beauty routine pretty simple. For my hair, I blow dry it or put it up in a bun. For makeup, I keep my products as minimal as possible for a super natural look. I’ve only dyed my hair once, and even then I chose a color just a little darker than my natural brunette shade. New York City is the best place for beauty inspiration, and I always envy the people I pass on the street who have a bold hair color or killer makeup look. This fall, my goal is to step out of my comfort zone with beauty a bit. Even if I’m just using a color depositing mascara to change my hair color temporarily, I want to do something that totally changes my look.

This fall, I’m going beyond just saving the beauty trends I love on Instagram — I promise to experiment with new ideas. Keep scrolling for the eight beauty trends I have lined up to try this fall.

neon lining

While I loved experimenting with colorful eyeliner last summer, I hope to keep seeing this trend well into fall, focusing on neon shades. Although I tend to wear darker colors come fall, I’m confident I’ll still want to channel some ‘summer energy’ with my makeup, and neon eyeliner is the perfect way to do it. I love how it can take a simple, everyday makeup look to the next level.

bleached eyebrows

People have been bleaching their brows forever, but when model and style icon Adwoa Aboah showed up to the 2017 Met Gala with invisible brows, I was wowed. At the time, it wasn’t a trend I saw myself trying out, but I loved how it looked on her and anyone else bold enough to get involved. When bleached brows were a major street style trend during fashion month in early 2022, I felt like the trend was making a comeback. I’ve been seeing this trend almost every time I scroll through Instagram, and I’m pretty tempted to give it a try.

gone red

Every time the season changes, I debate whether or not I should dye my hair. Based on my saved photos on Instagram, I think I want to wear red for fall. I’ve been seeing so many different shades of red all over Instagram – there’s one option that looks good on everyone. I especially love Tessa Thompson’s latest hair transformation, because it’s not too drastic of a change.

shiny tops

I like to think of this look as a lip gloss for your lids. No matter which eye look you choose, a sheer shimmer totally elevates the mood. Even without eyeshadow, this product will make your eyes pop. For fall, I think this trend would look especially great over any shade of dark eyeshadow, from moody maroons to forest greens.

gems for the eyes

Did anyone else collect sticker sheets as a kid, afraid to stick them on anything? For fall 2022, I’m ready to break that habit with gems for the eyes. This trend is already all over Instagram, so check out your favorite beauty creator for inspiration.

Royal Blue Nails

Jewel tones tend to be in style every fall and winter, but I’m specifically looking forward to incorporating royal blue. I probably haven’t worn blue nail polish since I was in high school, but now it’s at the top of my shopping list for fall nail colors.

hair bands

Hair bows are such a cute way to accessorize any hairstyle and they fit right in with the coastal granny trend that I’ve been loving all summer. I definitely think the beachy aesthetic will continue to be popular come fall, and I can’t wait to see how my favorite influencers adapt the trend for cooler weather. Hair bows look cute in ponytails, braids, even braided ponytails.

nail stickers

I love the look of nail art, but I don’t have much of a talent for creating intricate designs at home. Enter: nail stickers. I just bought my first pack and I’m already obsessed. They’re also super easy to use; I just paint my nails any color, apply the stickers where I want with tweezers, then seal them with top coat.
