Nairobi Fashion Week is finally upon us. After a four-year hiatus, this event will provide the platform for twenty-five designers from around the world to showcase their new collections from November 25-26 at the Sarit Expo Center in Nairobi.
This year’s theme is labeled Blue Print, and the organizers want to focus on turning Nairobi into one of the continent’s fashion districts, as well as attracting more designers and stockists. Pop-up exhibits will also be part of the two-day event, allowing visitors to meet designers and exhibitors prior to the show at any time.

The theme seeks to bring designers’ cultural journeys and milestones to life through their original creations.
There will be a spectacular series of designs on display to suit the theme. The event promises elegance with a purpose. You will create a productive ground for careers to thrive and make an impact in the fashion, art, textiles and manufacturing industries.

Pink Palhares (Angola)
Rosa Palhares He was born in Angola and moved to Portugal when he was 12 years old. As a child, she always had a passion for fashion design, and it was in Brazil where she got her training. Her childhood dream came true and she began her career as a hairstylist in her native country. Today she divides her life between Portugal and Angola, with a studio in Lisbon and another in Luanda. Palhares exhibitions on day 2.
Nonnistics (Nigeria)
lagos based workshop Noye of nonnists he was once in the banking industry, where he excelled at number crunching. Now, he has translated that same passion into fashion and design. Nonye grew up and studied in Owerri, Imo State and later moved to the UK before taking fashion courses in the US. She recently showcased herself at New York Fashion Week. She looks at her SS23 collection from her on November 26.
Chema Chetu (Kenya)
evelyne wanjiku is the founder and principal designer of Chema Chetua Kenyan leather goods brand known for exceptionally creative yet practical bags, clutches and wallets.
In addition to her artistic vision and fine art training, Evelyne’s brand is a women-led and inspired company that strives to empower its community one book and one leather bag at a time. Chema Chetu will exhibit her SS23 collection on Friday the 25th.
MODIFICATION (Ghana)
As a child, a Ghanaian designer Ami Tonye Yomekpe was fascinated by all things fashion after watching Style with Elsa Klensch on CNN back in the 80s; She was fascinated by fashion from around the world, interviews with designers, backstage passes and models on international runways.
However, it wasn’t until a chance meeting much later, while working on her thesis, that she took the first steps on her fashion journey. After a series of interviews, the late Kofi Ansah, a pioneer and celebrated Ghanaian fashion designer who revolutionized the industry in Ghana, became a mentor to her and encouraged her to follow her passion. Ami, a trained architect, would later start her brand Afromod Trends, which was recently rebranded as MODIFICATION and would return to NFW a second time.
Pretah (Angolan)

Moved by her passion for fashion and her ambition to promote a positive socioeconomic impact in Angola, she decided in 2015, in Luanda, to create Pretah, a brand that reflects his love for retro and vintage style as well as his African origins. She will be exhibiting her SS23 collection on the 25th.
Andrea gallant (angola)
born in Angola gallant andreaHer passion for fashion began in childhood when she learned to tie the first knots on her dolls and clothes when she spent the afternoons with her grandmother, a seamstress by profession. Her brand presents satin fabrics, lace, glitter and daring cuts that emphasize the sensuality of women. In 2017, she began transitioning herself into the bridal market. Andrea will be exhibiting her SS23 collection on the 26th.
