Harlem’s Fashion Row Launches Black Designer Shopping Directory – Footwear News

Brandice Daniel, CEO of Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR) and Icon 360, has joined forces with several major retailers to create an online shopping directory for Black and Latino designers.

Dubbed “HFR & Co.”, this new online shopping directory is a partnership between HFR and a group of retailers, including Bloomingdale’s, Shopbob and Macy’s, to provide a curated list of emerging brands owned by Black and Latino designers.

Instead of searching for black designers online or on a retailer’s website, HFR & Co. allows shoppers to find and support these designers directly through the websites of partner retailers, HFR said in a press release. on Monday. Consumers will be able to shop a wide variety of products, including men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, children’s clothing and accessories on the HFR & Co. site and will be directed to the relevant retailer’s platform to complete the purchase.

Daniel explained that he wanted to build a community to increase awareness of emerging color designers and make it easier for consumers to find and support them. “I am very grateful for the support of Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Shopbop in making this possible,” he said. “As time goes by, I expect other retailers to jump on board.”

Shawn Outler, director of diversity, equity and inclusion for Macy’s, Inc., added that the retailer is “honored and proud” to be a part of HFR & Co. “This platform will not only increase consumer awareness and access to also will play a crucial role in creating an equitable and sustainable future for these Black and Hispanic/Latino-owned business builders and designers,” Outler said.
