The best in beauty for 2022

Category growth, trends and innovation were on display at this year’s Beauty Creators Awards, held earlier this month at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York. Cosmetic Executive Women President Carlotta Jacobson and Jill Scalamandre, Executive Director, Beekman 1802; and the president of CEW welcomed guests to the awards luncheon, which honored the most innovative products of the year in 33 categories. The event included an in-person networking luncheon and reception, hosted by Hena Doba, anchor and breaking news correspondent for Cheddar, Inc.; and guest host Olivia Lux, star of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13, taking the stage to introduce the makeup category; and DJ Tiana Verhage as the event’s soundtrack.

Scalamandre said: “Beauty consumers have a deep understanding of ingredients; And this year, for the first time, consumers weighed in on Launch of the Year, as well as Influencer of the Year and Retailer of the Year.”

CEW aligned its categories with today’s hottest trends, which include personal care and sexual wellness, according to Jacobson. He noted the success of CEW’s first Beauty Bazaar, which showcased entries, and thanked participating innovation partners Firmenich, CVS Pharmacy, Financo/Raymond James, Amazon Premium Beauty, QVC, Creators Corner, NielsenIQ, New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Snap Inc., Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, Dyson, Inkbox, Bodymark, Drunk Elephant, P&G Beauty, Glow Recipe, Advent International, L’Oréal Paris, Dove, and Beekman 1802. Included event partners, RPG, PIMS , Badger Agency , Beauty Inc, Cheddar News, Consultancy Media, Fairchild Media Group, Suite-K, Kaplow Communications, The NPD Group, Cosmoprof NA, and Spa Chicks on the Go.

Master of Ceremonies Doba recognized CEW’s 9,000 diverse members, representing leading brands, independents, retailers, fragrance houses, media and suppliers, and kicked off the program with the Iconic Beauty Award category.
