Oliver Tolentino received a great honor this week when Vienna Fashion Week organizers announced the invitation for the fashion designer to appear at MQ VIENNA FASHION WEEK.22 (MQVFW.22) this coming September in Vienna, Austria. Aurum 999.9 MagBook, the luxury coffee table magazine book, will sponsor the Tolentino show.
Tolentino, who resides in Beverly Hills, California and has dressed nearly a hundred Hollywood celebrities, will be the first Filipino designer to present a collection at VIENNA FASHION WEEK. Vienna is a European capital of fashion, famous for hosting more than 400 formal balls during its social season.
MQVFW.22 will take place from September 12 to 17. Creative Headz partners Elvyra Geyer, Zigi Mueller-Matyas and Maria Oberfrank have organized MQVFW for fourteen years, producing a diverse program for fashion lovers, trade experts and the international press.
MQVFW.22 will feature 36 shows, 1,000 designs, and 140 models. The hourly fashion shows will take place in a 500-capacity marquee located in the famous MuseumsQuartier. MQVFW.22 attracts approximately 5,000 guests for the week and attracts more than 20 television, print and online media partners.
The opening show of the Vienna Fashion Week.22 on September 12, designed by a well-known Austrian stylist, will present an outfit from each participating designer. The organizers have asked Oliver Tolentino to attend and present a look that night before his 30-piece collection fashion show on the night of September 14.
Reached for comment, Tolentino shared: “It is a great honor to be invited to present in Vienna and to be the host in such a historically incredible city with a rich history of fashion and with so many fashion lovers in attendance.” He added: “I hope to introduce a fall/winter collection in the season.”
