Live snake stuck in woman’s ear in bizarre viral video

Did you think a snake in your boot was bad? That old 19th century language is nothing compared to one in your ear.

Shocking footage captured the alleged moment a “surgeon” tried to remove a live snake that had infiltrated a woman’s ear. The herpetology surgery video has racked up over 125,000 views as viewers speculate whether or not the squirm-inducing footage is authentic.

“The snake got into the ear,” reads the caption of the bizarre Facebook clip, which was posted on September 1 by an India-based social media star named Chandan Singh to his 20,126 followers. However, it is not clear where, when or how this unfortunate event occurred, local outlet Economic Times reported.

In the nearly four-minute clip, a would-be doctor can be seen using tweezers in a desperate attempt to extract a black and yellow snake poking its head out of a patient’s ear.

Unfortunately, despite the Swiss Army Knife’s value in tools, from forceps to cotton swabs, it fails to dislodge the reptile from its unorthodox place.

The now-viral clip ends without revealing whether or not the sssssurgery was successful, leaving viewers shocked and horrified.

“Looks like a fake doctor,” scoffed an unconvinced Facebook commenter. “That’s why he’s doing so many tricks.”

“Instead of a doctor, a snake charmer would have removed the snake,” joked another.

However, some viewers thought the clip was fake with one calling it “100% fake” while another wondered how she managed to fit the rest of her body into her ear canal. One skeptic thought it strange that the snake was poking its head out, as this would mean that it crawled into his ear and then turned around in such a confined space.

Despite the veracity of the video, this would not be the first time an uninvited pest has colonized someone’s ear canal. In January, a New Zealand man realized every entomophobe’s worst nightmare after a cockroach crawled into his ear and stayed there for three full days. Meanwhile, a tourist diving in Puerto Rico suffered a similar fate: with a crab.
