Fort Worth Fashion Week returns to the runway

Fort Worth sees its first fall fashion week thanks to mastermind Philip Maximillian, which runs through Sunday.

Returning after his successful debut this spring, Maximilian is at the helm once again. FWFW has a host of events showcasing fall trends with more styles, shows, businesses, and brands this year. Men’s clothing, sports leisure and more western styles are just a few examples of more avant-garde styles that we will see.

Maximillian will present his first spring and summer couture collection for 2023, aptly naming it, The Debut. Fort Worth’s unique western culture was the inspiration behind the collection, which required over 40 hours of hand stitching. Spectators can expect flowing and fringed chiffon fabrics at the show.

“We illustrated in the spring the introduction to say we’re here, and come see what it’s all about,” says Maximillian. “Now, he’s bringing everyone together, everyone in the Fort Worth fashion community and creating this great event for the week.”

This year’s event features fashion shows from Studio 74 Vintage, City Boots, LAUDE the Label and more than 30 other local businesses and brands. Returning events from earlier this year include a fashion reception at Neiman Marcus and Camp Bowie’s Fashion Row. FWFW kicks off tonight with City Boot’s “The Big Bend” parade.

“It is the place that rejuvenates your soul. In designing the Big Bend Collection, it was important to me to represent the natural colors and charm of the region,” says City Boots founder Lizzy Bentley. “The stitching pattern meanders and flows, just like the highways and the Rio Grande that run through the landscape. The midnight navy blue exemplifies the dark night skies I encountered driving down the Presidio Freeway, lit only by stars.”
