EXCLUSIVE: Black Beauty Roster and Warner Bros. Discovery today announced their partnership on a unique new program that will give hairstylists and makeup artists from historically underserved communities the opportunity to position themselves for a department head position in entertainment.

The 12 selected from the US and Canada are Denise Baker (Hair/LA), Gabby Navarrete (Make-up/LA), Charles Zambrano (Make-up/NYC), Allison LaCour (Make-up/NOLA), Tiffany Daugherty (Hair/LA) , Kauilani Goodwyn (hair/LA), Amber Hamilton (hair/LA), Se’Anne Simon (make-up/NOLA), Khalieha Cunningham (hair/Canada), Krista Haan (make-up/Canada), Amber Crombach (make-up/Canada) and Marecel Callagan (makeup/Canada).

Kicking off this month, BBR and WBD’s new educational program will bring select beauty professionals together virtually for four months, with artists receiving extensive training from the Black Beauty Roster, to ensure they’re ready to step into the role of boss. department at its completion. Creatives participating as guest instructors include two-time Emmy Award-winning hair department director Barry Lee Moe (Pam & Tommy), makeup department director Vonda K. BBR’s new program with WBD grows out of a partnership between the organizations announced in February, in which BBR provides hair and makeup staff support for WBD productions through its extended network, as well as workshops for executives on topics as alliance and advocacy, and panel discussions focused on behind-the-camera diversity.
