Beauty and the Beast returns to the MAC Center on Sunday

KENT, Ohio – Kent State’s Beauty and the Beast event, where gymnastics and wrestling compete simultaneously inside the MAC Center, returns for the first time in four years on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Wrestling will take on Clarion while Gymnastics will host West Michigan in their home opener.

ADMISSION

Tickets for Sunday’s event start at $15 and can be purchased here. As with all Kent State Athletics home contests, students will receive free admission by presenting their FlashCard at the door.

PROMOTIONS

Characters from “Beauty and the Beast” will be on hand to interact with fans and take photos before and during the event. There will also be a photo booth available for fans, presented by Water Street Tavern.

The gifts will be available throughout the meeting.

Following the conclusion of the competition, there will be a joint autograph session with student-athletes from both teams.

EVENT SETUP

The gymnastics competition will take place on the north end of the MAC Center floor, which is close to where the uneven bars are usually set up. The wrestling mat will be on the south end of the floor, which is closest to the fan entrance.

This distinctively designed event will allow fans to enjoy the different aspects of both sports at the same time.

Kent State hosted its first Beauty and the Beast event in 2013. Gymnastics and wrestling are 3-2 in Beauty and the Beast competitions.

2019: Gymnastics lost to Central Michigan, 195.175-194.925; Wrestling lost to Central Michigan, 23-12.
