“Social media and celebrity culture definitely have a role to play in the shade’s renewal, with the style’s stamp of approval meaning pink no longer has these stereotypical implications,” she added.

“Children need more role models like Dr. Goodall, because imagining that they can be anything is just the beginning; seeing it makes a difference,” said Lisa McKnight, executive vice president and global head of Barbie and dolls at Mattel.

Goodall is famous for her 60-year study of the social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees.

With newfound popularity and career opportunities ahead, there’s no stopping the pink lady – or the man. Daniel Craig’s pink Anderson & Sheppard jacket at the premiere of “No Time to Die” in 2021 continues to generate demand among the brand’s customers for other pink garments.

Barbiecore has also reached the other male leads in Hollywood. “There has always been a Ken inside of me. I’ve had this Ken-ergy, so to speak,” Ryan Gosling said at the press tour for his new movie “The Gray Man,” where he has subtly dressed in pink.
