HAMILTON, Ohio (WXIX) – An impromptu concert at Hamilton Goodwill is going viral.

Diana Garvin, 77, travels to nursing homes to sing to residents. Recently, her karaoke machine broke down, so she went looking for a new one.

That’s when he ended up at the Goodwill on Main Street in Hamilton on August 8.

He found a karaoke machine on the shelf and wasted no time picking up the microphone, entertaining patrons like John Schuerfranz.

Schuerfranz took out his phone and began recording Garvin’s musical performance.

“All of a sudden, I heard this angel singing on electronics and I thought, well, I have to go and see what this is,” Schuerfranz recalled. “Sure enough, she was there with her karaoke machine and singing. She has the whole world in her hands. I thought she had to share this with the world.”

The video has more than 34,000 views on Facebook.

“I love music,” Garvin said. “I don’t do it perfectly. I just love music, and I love people, and I have my own special way of talking to people.”

Garvin said he was going to buy the karaoke machine, but someone beat him to it.

Before he could buy it, another customer bought it and gave it to Garvin for free, said Michael Flannery, public information officer for Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries.

Now Garvin will be able to entertain his friends from the nursing home at karaoke night.
